FAQs

  • What is IV therapy, and how does it work?
IV therapy involves administering vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous drip. REVIVE SMA ensures quicker absorption and efficient delivery of nutrients compared to oral supplements.
  • What are the benefits of IV treatment?
Benefits of IV treatments include improved hydration, enhanced immune function, increased energy levels, faster recovery from illness or exercise, and better overall wellness. REVIVE SMA also helps with specific health concerns such as infections, migraines, fatigue, and nutrient deficiencies.

We can also refer you to a trusted specialist, if necessary.
  • What will I feel during my IV session?
The only potentially uncomfortable part of the IV process is the insertion of a thin needle for the drip line; this may cause a brief burning sensation. Once the needle is removed, only the thin plastic tubing remains. Some people feel nothing during the infusion, while others may notice a cool sensation as the liquid enters the bloodstream. A well-placed IV drip should not burn or hurt during the process.

This is why we conduct a thorough medical assessment before administering any IV therapy.

Common side effects may include mild discomfort at the injection site or a cool sensation during the infusion. Serious risks are rare and can be managed by our professional healthcare team at REVIVE SMA.

San Miguel de Allende: What To Know

DEHYDRATION & ELECTROLYTES

It’s key to stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water and be sure to include electrolytes. Coconut water, watermelon, celery, and cucumber are excellent natural sources of electrolytes, which are essential minerals like sodium, potassium, and magnesium that help regulate fluid balance, muscle function, and nerve signaling.

WATER

Always drink purified or bottled water to avoid potential waterborne illnesses and carry a water bottle to stay hydrated on the go. Most restaurants serve bottled water; just ask if you're not sure.

ALTITUDE

At 6,000 feet, San Miguel’s altitude can affect you more than you expect. Take it easy when you first arrive, allow yourself to acclimate, and watch for signs of altitude sickness. Common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blocked ears, headache, fatigue, lack of appetite, insomnia, or rapid heartbeat.

SUN & SHADE

The sun is stronger at higher altitudes. Wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, and seek the shady side of the street during peak sun hours to protect your skin and stay cool.

SHOES

San Miguel de Allende's charming cobblestone streets can be tough on your feet, and your balance. Wear comfortable, supportive shoes to avoid slips and falls and have fun exploring.

FOOD & DRINK

Enjoy the local cuisine but be mindful of food safety. Eat at reputable restaurants, wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly, and avoid street food if you have a sensitive stomach. Try not to overindulge; spicy (“picante” in Spanish) is a thing! Take it easy with alcohol, too. We know the local cocktails are good, but they can really pack an unexpected wallop at high altitudes, not to mention their dehydrating effect!

ALLERGIES

If you know you are allergic and can suffer severe reactions to specific foods or ingredients, BRING YOUR EPI PEN, as they don’t exist here in Mexico.

PHARMACIES

In Mexico you’ll find many medicines are available over the counter, even those that may require an Rx in your home country.  The exception: antibiotics and controlled substances like diazepam, alprazolam, and others. To be safe, we suggest you ask for professional medical advice when seeking medicines of any kind. REVIVE SMA is here to help you make smart choices so you can feel better faster.
